Beer festivals

COVID-19

Events at the Mansion House will be COVID-compliant. We ask visitors to respect the latest government guidelines to ensure the safety of all guests and staff. We’ll be encouraging contactless payment wherever possible.

Events such as our Mansion House Beer Festival are only possible because of the dedication of our staff and wonderful volunteers who give up their time in order to bring you a great weekend of fun and entertainment. Each year too we get magnificent support from our very good friends at the Rotary Club of Rainhill, along with pundits from “CAMRA” (Campaign for Real Ale) and others who all work extremely hard to bring you some of the finest beers, ales, lagers and ciders from around the UK and further afield.

We are really grateful to everyone; not least our patrons who return year after year to support the festival. All monies raised from this and other events at The Mansion House go entirely to Age UK Mid Mersey, helping us to continue to deliver a range of products and services to local older people across Mid Mersey, enabling them to enjoy later life.

We hope also that all those who attend The Mansion House enjoy all that this beautiful venue and the surrounding Victoria Park has to offer. Benefiting the local community as it does, we are extremely proud of this great location and you should be also. We want you all to be part of this.

Finally, on behalf of the trustees and staff of The Mansion House and Age UK Mid Mersey, our sincere thanks go to all our sponsors and supporters, in particular our main sponsor, Livesey Spottiswood (Charted Accountants). Without the generous support from them and many other local businesses this festival would simply not take place.

Our first class hospitalities team and our volunteers always look forward to meeting you over the Beer Festival weekends. In return, we do hope you continue to enjoy the ambiance, the food, and the live entertainment.

How it all works

Tokens only – No cash sales

At the Beer Festival we work on a tokens only system, which simply means that all food and drink purchases are via token cards. No cash will be accepted at the food or drink bars.

Glass exchange

You can get a clean glass from the Glass Exchange Area in the Diamond Suite to ensure you enjoy the true flavour of the ales. Remember, the glass is yours to take home to keep!

Food

Tasty burgers and hotdogs will be available at reasonable prices from the food bar located under the covered walkway near the Orangery.

step one

‘Token’ cards can be purchased at the main entrance. All profits go to Age UK Mid Mersey.

step two

Choose your drink or food and pass your token(s) to the person serving, who will stamp the appropriate number of currency values on the card. Please ensure that you have enough ‘money’ left on your tokens to pay the full amount.

step three

Repeat steps one and two as many times as required!
